Antique 1800’s, Staffordshire Children’s Plate. From the region of England. With the depiction’s in blue, of a top hatted man carrying chair’s on his back. With the whimsical phrase “CHAIRS TO MEND”.
Similar childrens plates teaching piety and virtues, are illustrated in Noel Riley’s book, “GIFTS FOR GOOD CHILDREN”. Made as gifts for good children and rewards of merit, the plate would have been used to aid in childrens education and moral training, and to encourage their young imaginations. The winsome imagery of these plate’s, are sought after with “ABC” Wares. Unmarked, with exception of impressed tally mark. In excellent antique condition, some light fading on outside edge, typical light crazing.

TruffleandFig will only then proceed with the refund once the required information is fulfilled. Refunds will be issued in 7-10 business days, holidays permitting.
Should a buyer run into a problem due to breakage of shipping, save all packing materials with photos, and contact TruffleandFig as soon as possible. TruffleandFig will contact USPS/UPS to attain reimbursement for damaged items. Shipping fees are non-refundable. If you have questions on Etsy's process they have advised to call 844-659-3879.
