Italian Rococo Gilt Bronze Framed Art "La Leçon de musique" by François Boucher
$75.00
La Leçon de musique by Francois Boucher
A magnificently framed Italian Rococo print of La Leçon de musique, by Francois Boucher.
The print itself, La Leçon de musique, translates to "The Music Lesson.
This masterpiece was originally painted in 1749, and presently housed at the Musée Cognacq-Jay in Paris.
The painting portrays an idyllic, romantic, pastoral scene of a lush garden setting, with a young elegant woman with music sheets, and a gentleman playing his lute.
The background with the fountain and sphinx, often represent the flow of emotion with running water, and the sphinx representing mystery and the complex game of courtship.
In gorgeous dreamlike colors... from her luxurious dusty rose gown, the gentleman in ochres and blue, and the lush foliage of soft greens and brown undertones anchor the ethereal pastels.
Framed exquisitely in a gilt bronze and glass Italianate frame. The details are heavenly in this ornate frame...from the acanthus leaf atop, bottom shell motif, floral relief details, to the heavy scrollwork throughout.
In excellent condition, has back hook for hanging, and hallmarked Italy.
