Extraordinary & Royal Early 19th Century French Victorian Sacred Heart Ex-Voto Candle shade/ornament. Made of gilded gold brass and glass. The Design is of the Sacred Heart with a ruby red glass center. A color associated with the passion of Jesus Christ. Monogrammed in the center is the initials IHS, the Greek term for Jesus. Surrounding the initials is a crown of thorns heart. Encompassed by exquisite beveled cut glass stones, representing the rays of light from the heart. The back has a gilded gold brass hook for hanging.
In beautiful antique condition. Expected with age and use, some glass stones are missing. Paint from the center glass has some flaws,pictured and price reflected.
Incredibly Unique and Rare to find of this age and origin.
Exquisite on a wall, or hung.
Most definitely beckons to be admired somewhere special!
